Progress Report

Families are invited to stay for a period of six nights. We will allocate Tuesday to Sunday for one family only and they can choose to stay the entire time or for a short period. Mondays are for cleaning.

Over the last six weeks and up until Christmas we will plant over 1000 Flaxes.

There is also an access to the beach for wheelchairs to be put in place before Christmas 2009.

We need to thank so many people for all their help over this project, please accept all our thanks from the Trustees.  We know this facility will be enjoyed by a lot of people that are suffering from ill health and we think if they can spend some time out there it will be beneficial.

As most of you are aware it is our plan to build a second house in a rural area in North Taranaki. This place will be smaller than the house in Tipoka Road and will sleep probably 6-8. This one will have a quieter aspect about it within it's surroundings and we are thrilled to say that a piece of land has been offered by a local Taranaki couple from Pihama. They have a farm in Tikorangi inland from Waitara which would suit what we are doing down to the ground. It is unbelievable the support we are having from Jill and Graham Symons for the first piece of land in Rahotu and now with another Taranaki couple for the second piece in Tikorangi. Unbelievable too that it is the same farm that Ron, one of the trustees, used to go to with his family to see and work in his younger years.
