How can I make a donation to the Trust?
Donations can be made on line by credit card, using the secure “Pay Pal” facility or by cheque to “The Karen Cornelia Trust”,
PO Box 319, New Plymouth.
I am a wage earner and would like to make a donation to the Trust, would this be tax deductible?
Yes, to a maximum of $1890 (From all charitable Donations in the tax year) please provide sender details so we may send you a receipt and keep in touch.
I am a business owner and would like to make a financial contribution to the Trust, is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes, as a sponsor of the Trust, the advertising of your company would be tax deductible. Please see the range of options under “Sponsorship Benefits” and provide sender details so we may send you a receipt and keep in touch.
What is the criteria to be able to stay at the house?
Any individual who is suffering from cancer, or any other form of serious illness, together with their immediate family can apply.
How long can a family stay at the house?
From 1 night to a maximum of 6 nights.
How do people stay at the house?

We live outside of the Taranaki area, can we apply to stay at the house?
Yes, people can apply from throughout New Zealand, however priority will be given to families within the Taranaki community.
Who decides which families have priority and who can or cannot use the house?
A selection committee will meet on a regular basis to study all applications through a formal documented process, however the committees decision is final and not open to negotiation.
What supplies are provided when you stay at the house?
The house will be built and equipped with all modern appliances, including freezer and second fridge. For families staying at the house the Trustees ask that they provide for their own requirements.
Is linen provided at the house?
Yes, all linen requirements will be provided at the house, sheets, duvets, pillows, pillowcases, towels etc.
Does the Trust plan to develop the “A House for Karen” project outside of the Taranaki region?
No, not at this stage.
